Unable to get time for last few days.

NKN was down IRCTC was giving problem, getting timeout on clicking find train. Even after NKN comes the problem persists .

The site its moving after clicking on “Find Train” is jp.irctc.co.in, there is an issue of untrusted certificate. (failed url: https://jp.irctc.co.in/indianrail/home )

I tried to confirm website status through “http://isitdown.us/”, here is the result:

Then clicked the webmaster(whois) link got the following:

Called the number but it is of developer team, they gave me the Network Ops number 011-23745002. Called and reported the problem looks they took some time (may they understood the problem) . I told that the site is neither reachable from BSNL nor NKN. They asked my details and then asked me to email them . But to my surprise the page now started coming with train list.

Created status link for NKN on the home page. The script for pinger changed to create text datafile at /var/www/sites/wap/script/data/getping.txt . Also created cgi script for generating png file for up or down status at /var/www/sites/www1cgi/nkn.png . Linked the script as png in the home page headlines.html. finished at 8:00 PM.

[After following exercise verified that old mails of 10-11-12/10/2013 are coming, system is Ok now]

Detected MAJOR problem: outside emails not coming to NML. Last spam to my mailbox is Thursday 07:11 PM via ASSP2.  Found ASSP in GW1 down. restarted but ldap1 giving no MAIL/EXPR… etc problem. logged in to LDAP2 (backup ASSP) found asp dead. rebooted GW1 and restarted asp in GW1 but problem still persists. My yahoo mail did not come, even though asp at GW1 and LDAP2 running now.

Found GW1 assp logs are upto 05/10/2013 !!!! it was down since then!! to be put in Monitoring system.

mail via GW1 still has problem blocked port 25 to redirect to assp2 which is working . the problem showing in ldap1 log as “172.19.200.201 did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection”

Problem resolved by commenting following lines in /etc/mail/sendmail.mc then recompiling and restarting sendmail. Port 25 block removed and tested.

SORBS service is down confirms its site. SPAMCOP site has no message but not working.

BSNL all links are down at 16:15, sent sms via web interface but looks not going out. called and intimated Saha regarding this. Again all mail Servers needs to be checked. Found not switching to NKN. Removed dual IP for single FQDN. now gw1.nmlindia.org points only BSNL-GW1 ip and smtp.nml.in points NKN-GW1 ip. Also changed DNS make entry ns2.nmlindia.org to point NKN-20. created assp listen port in LDAP2 for this ip and iptables to permit incomming SMTP on this ip. restarted assp / iptables in LDAP2. To check and correct FW rule in GW1 for NKN-21 for SMTP.

could not understand why unable to connect port 25 of NKN-21 from my BB. Firewall and IPconfig in assp is OK.

 Problem located in GW1 as BSNL down is “ERROR: !!!! no answering DNS-SERVER”.

Located the problem in default route in W2K multiple route not working properly. in LDAP1 and LDAP2 my scripts for multirouting working fine. Some script for W2K/other windows version to be created.

Found problem in 8Hrs calc for Sudip showing negative. Found his leave entry has problem with following data.

The overlapped data creating problem. The difference is incorrect : days and date difference not matching.

Unable to update GW1 since IE6, unable to make IE8 as it requires min XPSP2.

Created script for above anomally , searched all, taken printout and corrected most entries.

ID 01000001347 CCL (BC) not as per rule corrected.

BioTA wrongly allows 1/2 ML,RH, EL etc. also excluded inbetween Sat/Sun in BC leave. To be corrected. BC leave config changed and tried with recompute.  Had to delete and apply again for correction.

Corrected all entries with TotalLeave days and DateDiff of From and To.  Most of the problems is due to From and To from one to other month. If muster generated apriory there will be no problem.

Surprisingly only five ladies taken Child Care Leave, One person Study Leave, None one taken Maternity Leave, six persons paternity leave,  ID 1026 has given 284 days Other leave (many discrp in FL), no extra ordinary leave !!!!

LDAP1 Hanged since night. Sudip went office early, but before I call, dnml called for Internet not comming. (DHCP on LDAP1 ) . Asked sudip to recycle power of LDAP1(rebooting not possible).

DNML called sudip and also called in mobile, I intimated that I am everyday cleaning diskspace and managing running of the system. RAM is also too low. I told and got senction for these long back but unable to procure due to procedural problems. He told he will talk to SPO also.

I forwarded reminder email (on this context) to SPO again asking suggestion for accelarating the purchase procedure. Made manual indent for RAM and HDD and handed over to Thakur with intimation to Shashi for processing on Tueday. 

 It looks pfsense ip 53 service is also stuck. changed DHCP for ldap1-proxy.

Got call from Srikanth he is not able to access irctc asked if it is blocked. I informed nothing is blocked now (as we are not using proxy and routing all NML traffic without any authentication). I logged in to my PC at office and tried irctc.co.in its coming, though response is very slow, may be irctc server issue. But according to him he is facing problem in login page, first page is coming . I tried login to irctc with my ID it took time but successful. I changed his PCs route via 1.53 from 1.58 asked to reboot and try. But still unsuccessful (looks irctc issue but difficult to convince D’NML).

At office patched all windows systems with the newly released patches (bdpc, bdpc-4,bdpc-5,platinum,gw1, avpc1, avpc2, avpc3, avpc4). There is problem in patch/network cable in Reader-6 many users reporting problem in attendance recording.

BioTA T6 reader trying to use the SDK. experimenting on the available bin file.

WMiki gone down, reason unknown to be checked. Restarted and working OK now may be disk space issue to be checked.

Installed MegaRAID for linux, now I can monitor the Temperature and all other details of the RAID in Acer servers. Installed in three servers (LDAP1, LDAP2, ICTUXEN1) and tested. Tried to integrate in the wap site, failed even after sudo for apache.

 Clustpc4 seems overloaded. splited the traffic of clustpc3 and diverted some to clustpc4, by modifying the route in DHCPD.

The BR-6 again disconnected from network instructed Prabhakar to take help of Birendra if problem persits. The BioTA Reader at Mg Plant is down. Sent prabhakar, it looks the DLink switch or adapter has problem. ask him to bring to NML checked here found the replacement Adapter of one AP is not working. This is the third time adapter burnt. Repair the old original adapter and sent him with that for conection again.

Done seen for battery charger and 2032/2025 batteries.

TPC consituted for RFID prebid conf. 23 Oct 3:00PM Prebid Conference will be held in old conf room.

Installed radiusd sarg snort in clustpc3 and clustpc4. configured (continued activity from yesterday) and activated snort with public rulesets.

BR-06 of BioTA is not working. Found all outgoing data since 01 Oct 2013 is not available for many users. Went with prabhakar to check in the turnstile room. It looks there is some problem in the network link from the reader to the non-snmp switch in Turntile room. Instructed prabhakar what to be done. He corrected by 12:30PM. Next data timing is around 2:30 PM, I checked the pending data sync status, looked Ok.

Talked to Mr Ajit of Synchronous, Ranchi on BioTA reader requested him to provide a proforma invoice for delivery of the BioTA reader so that I can start processing. I shall procure one fist then another in few days after integration into our system.

In DHCPD changed few groups as clustpc4 looks overloaded and clustpc3 under loaded. But still the same situation looks only one / few clients putting up the load.

 Tried Development versions of squid3 and squid3-squidguard in clustpc4 for failed to start and work correctly even after installation of required libraries. At last uninstalled and install 2.7 version of squid and corresponding squidguard. Configured squid and sarg in both clustpc3 and clustpc4. Both tested and working fine. Squid is presently in transparent mode to be changed for authentication. Sarg is with 7 day archive and 1 hour analysis mode. Checked and working fine. SquidGuard and squidauth to be configured later.
