Installed radiusd sarg snort in clustpc3 and clustpc4. configured (continued activity from yesterday) and activated snort with public rulesets.

BR-06 of BioTA is not working. Found all outgoing data since 01 Oct 2013 is not available for many users. Went with prabhakar to check in the turnstile room. It looks there is some problem in the network link from the reader to the non-snmp switch in Turntile room. Instructed prabhakar what to be done. He corrected by 12:30PM. Next data timing is around 2:30 PM, I checked the pending data sync status, looked Ok.

Talked to Mr Ajit of Synchronous, Ranchi on BioTA reader requested him to provide a proforma invoice for delivery of the BioTA reader so that I can start processing. I shall procure one fist then another in few days after integration into our system.

In DHCPD changed few groups as clustpc4 looks overloaded and clustpc3 under loaded. But still the same situation looks only one / few clients putting up the load.

 Tried Development versions of squid3 and squid3-squidguard in clustpc4 for failed to start and work correctly even after installation of required libraries. At last uninstalled and install 2.7 version of squid and corresponding squidguard. Configured squid and sarg in both clustpc3 and clustpc4. Both tested and working fine. Squid is presently in transparent mode to be changed for authentication. Sarg is with 7 day archive and 1 hour analysis mode. Checked and working fine. SquidGuard and squidauth to be configured later.

Experimented with ASUS BIOS logo, tried verious combination but it looks only an small image is possible. Reduced image size 50% while integrating with BIOS. The image was Windows Bitmap with 256 colour and 640×480 pixel size.

Also installed squid squidguard in clustpc3 and clustpc4. Configured clustpc3 for transparent proxy.

Configured ClustPC3’s proxy (started pfsense update and pkg download yesterday night). Now configured as transparent proxy. checked the traffic data and access from bdpc (using VPN). Also installed squidguard and radiusd server.

Doing the same for pfsense in ClustPC4 also.

 while coming to Office checked Turnstile Camera. It is out of focus, asked and confirmed from prabhakar that he changed it yesterday. I told him not to change focus in any camera in future, focus has nothing to do with the darness or detoriated quality of the picture.

 NKN gone down at 11:35 checked NIFFT router it was also down indicating NIC Ranchi problem.  Changed the WPAD from via endian to ldap1-proxy and told SKC /Nelito about the NKN status and if anyone calls, he need to be told to restart browser.

Called Mr Nagendra and lodged complain. Could know that they have some short circuit problem and is being rectified. Resumed service at 12:05. Shown the method of changing WPAD to SKC and reset wpad to viaendian again.

From Synchronous a person who is bring the BioTA reader called sent Prabhakar to pickup him. The reader to be checked by me today and returned to him along with a SmartCard for compatible Mifare reader.

 Checked the reader. It has facility to output data in desired text format which will be suitable for integration with our BioTA system. The Access Control is also tested to work and timing is configurable. Default is 10s but in our case 3s is ok and we checked making it 3s. Fingerprinter sensitivity is not excellent but comparable to what we have. The cheap (Rs 6000/-) delhi unit is very fast in sensing FP. However eSSL looks more rugged.
Programmed a Mifare Smart ID Card for supplying to the vendor as a sample. He is supposed to supply NML similar unit with compatible Mifare Card reader.

 Returned the reader and sample card to the Synchronous representative. Photos taken of the reader transfered to my PC processed the SDCard of Old camera (deleted photos of 2012 and reformated transferred photos of 2013, something like quick defrag)

Created script for removing spam from a mailbox folder. This need to be tested and used. Working with my folders. The regex to be set in file spamregex very carefuly. Then mailRemove.sh to be executed.

I had put user bd only at present and fixed INBOX.Spam folder, also using mp_reject script. (created three files mp_reject ,  mailRemove.sh and spamregex )

Studying procmail for more changes, I had created global procmailrc about two weeeks back for spam handling working fine. However more finetuning required in both ASSP and the procmailrc.

 BioTA turnstile camera problem. Wiring not know to us tried to search and fine the fault. After spending lot of time could pin point the fault due to nursery people in the gardening. The damaged cable was rotten about a feet due to leakage water inside the jacket. Informed Naiya about it and with his help digout and reconnected temporarily. The cable need to be changed the rewiring and rerouting is also required.

 Talked to Mr Ajit Kumar Synchronous Ranchi for BioTA reader mode U990 of eSSL. He will send a unit tomorrow for testing by me, the price already quoted (Appr 15000/- with Smartcard reader).

At home assembled the script and tested

tested sending mail from gmail. comed to my inbox. confirmed no loss. rest to test later.

7:30AM Since NKN not restored chaged default router config in DHCPD.conf and wpad changed from via endian to ldap2-proxy. restarted dhcpd and httpd. Now NML users will get Internet via BSNL / (and NKN) when resumed, but through LDAP2 only(not via recently configured appliances).

Rebooted twice but not working. Found Sino-Korea IP block downdown and processing script not working properly and all firewall rules from INPUT chains getting deleted. Changed the script in 0001Byomkesh-antispam in cron.daily. Then tested and its working fine.

Later found that the sendmail was creating problem (dead) all mails getting rejected . This was due to inproper commenting of temporary email (receiving ) IP of 117.239.23.237 in sendmail.mc (missing dnl before # in MTAalt). Corrected the same and restarted the sendmail. Working Ok now.

Checked Office MUX found both LEDs green in the mux, sent another SMS stating the local FO link is ok but link is showing down status.

I simply forget where my time was spent. I do start my Office Work after waking up from bed about 6 O’Clock till  11 PM. But if any one asks I have nothing to say where I spent my time. I am bit lazy in writing but still trying to log someting if not all.
